	I wonder if you have ever thought that having a baby is a much bigger miracle than most people realise. Becoming pregnant, and the path through pregnancy can be traumatic with all it's plus's and minuses but the underlying nature of things is that growing a human being is probably nothing short of the number one wonders of the of the world.
	Photographing that amazing experience shouldn't be left to chance.

	Most people are very keen to have pictures their newborn child, (and I can do that too), but often forget about the mother-to-be. This doesn't happen to you to often in your life and at maybe you will end up with a few pictures that don’t do justice to an amazing period in your life.


	You can change that with a carefully and tastefully created pregnancy portrait that celebrates the life creation process in the comfort of your own surroundings.


		Memories stored only in the mind tend to fade.
		If you would like to record this special time in your life please ensure you book your maternity portrait session well ahead. An ideal time to take this kind of picture is around 20/34 weeks. Later than this, and you never know if junior may decide to just put in an early appearance!

On the day..

	1 hour before hand, try not to wear anything too tight that may leave marks on your skin. (marks can be removed with a little editing!) Plain minimal make-up gives lovely soft skin tones. Plain and simple clothing works best no prints or logos. Eat before we start as, strangely, ladies become starving during the shoot. The shoot will take about 2 hours from past experience but there's really no rush.


	I normally take the shoot in your home which means you can explore different outfits. We'll talk over about poses and look and you choose whether to have your maternity portrait fully clothed, partly clothed or unclothed. It’s your choice. Whatever you feel most comfortable with and of course have a friend(s) along for support and to make tea. The men, despite what they say, actual love to join in. It makes them, quite rightly, feel part of this wonderful occasion and also helps to create a great warm natural family photograph. So please don't leave them out.

Remember you will be completely in control of what happens and I'll be completely in control of creating a truly memorable maternity picture.

Any Extras?..only reasonable travel costs if you're more that 10 miles away.

The gift of a life, a new baby has arrived..


	A great time for family celebration. One of life's little miracles has arrived. In your arms soft and loved. That how you see it now, that's how you feel. Protective. When that moment passes though and the little human being that you have carried, nurtured for months and months starts to grow will you always remember just how it was. People do forget and if you have a photograph, a cherished memory, you will never forget just how is was at that moment..


	Ideally if we want the best photo shoot opportunity, and I do really, the best time to take photographs of your new bundle of joy is during the first 3/6 weeks, so pre-booking is important. If it's not booked you will always find something more pressing and the moment will be gone forever. Hey, I also know that babies are unpredictable so if you book it and it then clashes with something like medical appointments then just call and I'll rearrange the date.


	Your little bundle of joy will need to be feed at least an hour before the shoot begins. The session usually takes about 21/2 hours but it depends on lots of variables. Nappy Changes..more food!! Clothing ..again it's your choice but a plain outfit for the baby - one piece works well – ..or the natural look, I can take some great pictures when your baby's free of all clothes and just with a sheet towel or blanket (Plain of course). Now if the whole family wants to be in some of the pictures you should have to hand a long sleeved dark blouse or tops which compliment the skin tones of your baby. Have a spare set of clothing and kitchen roll just in case there’s an accident. If you have older children that need to be in the pictures then please read below. Apart from that you will have to be relaxed – tension and your baby will know!


	Relaxing slightly older children takes time – and I should know I've had 3 of them - If you would like them in the pictures we don't want them to simply stand and grin at the camera. I need to capture them being natural. Toys seem to work. A few favourite, non excitable toys, will turn the whole whole session into a fun pack event. Try to avoid anything that just makes them go into to hyper mode. We can all do that afterwards and can I please have the Darth Vader Light sword if I'm aloud to play.

	In a few years, when the family are all walking, talking and running around like there's no tomorrow why not go for some Life Style pictures. These are photographs taken out and about on a normal family day taken in one of your your favourite locations. Really Natural.
